If you’ve found your way to this space, chances are you’re expecting a baby, supporting someone who is, or you’re simply curious about birth. Whatever brought you here, I hope you find encouragement, honest information, and a reminder that you don’t have to navigate this journey alone.

I’ve been a birth doula for six years, but my passion for supporting women began long before that. For more than 16 years, I’ve worked as a personal trainer and yoga instructor, helping women build strength, confidence, and trust in their bodies. Looking back now, I realize every chapter of my career was preparing me for the work I do today.

I’m also a proud mother of four amazing children. Each of my pregnancies, births, and postpartum experiences was different, and each one taught me something new. I genuinely loved being pregnant. Watching my body grow and nurture life felt incredible, and those experiences gave me a deep appreciation for the beauty and unpredictability of pregnancy and birth.

Ironically, becoming a doula wasn’t part of my original plan.

After my fourth baby was born, I dreamed of becoming a midwife. At the time, I had never even heard of a doula. I simply didn’t know this profession existed. Like many parents, life had other plans. With four children to care for, going back to school for midwifery wasn’t realistic, so I quietly let that dream go.

What I didn’t realize was that I had already been doing doula work without knowing it.

Years before my training, I supported a close friend through labor while her husband was deployed overseas. Years later, I did the same for another friend. I wasn’t certified. I didn’t have a title. I simply knew no woman should have to go through birth feeling alone.

Looking back, those moments were preparing me for the path I was meant to take. Then one day, quite unexpectedly, doula work found me.

I came across a flyer for a community doula training program. Something inside me said, “This is it.” I signed up, completed the training, and I’ve never looked back.

The first year wasn’t easy. Like any small business owner, I had to learn how to balance my passion with the practical side of running a business. Supporting families comes from the heart, but building a sustainable business requires learning, persistence, and a lot of faith.

Today, I can honestly say I love what I do. Every family I meet reminds me why I answered this calling.

And yes I truly believe this is a calling.

Many doulas arrive at this work through different paths, but I think most of us are led here for a reason. This work has a way of changing you. It certainly changed me.

Supporting other families helped me look back at my own birth experiences with fresh eyes. It allowed me to process them, understand them differently, and find healing in ways I never expected. That experience deepened my empathy and reinforced why compassionate, respectful support matters so much during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Because this isn’t just my profession.

It’s part of who I am.

As you spend time here, you’ll notice that I believe there is no single “right” way to give birth or become a parent. Every family is unique, every birth is different, and every decision deserves respect.

My role has never been to tell anyone what they should do.

My role is to help families understand their options, provide evidence-informed information, offer unwavering emotional support, and create a space where they feel seen, heard, and empowered to make the decisions that are right for them.

If you’ve worked with me or if you choose to—you’ll quickly learn one thing about me: I value honesty.

Sometimes the truth isn’t easy to hear, but I believe families deserve clear, compassionate, and evidence-informed information. I’ll always be honest with you while meeting you with kindness and without judgment.

I’m human. I’m still learning. I make mistakes. But I will always show up with my whole heart.

My hope is that this blog becomes more than a collection of articles. I want it to feel like a conversation between friends—a place where we can talk honestly about pregnancy, birth, postpartum, motherhood, and everything in between. I’ll share what I’ve learned through my own experiences, my professional training, and the incredible privilege of walking alongside hundreds of families during one of the most transformative seasons of their lives.

Whether you’re planning your first birth, preparing to welcome another baby, or simply looking for trustworthy information, I’m honored you’re here.

Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your journey, I can’t wait to walk alongside you.
